Integrated life saving services

The ALS is in the privileged position of being a division of Surf Life Saving Australia. Not only is SLSA an icon of Australia, it has developed the credentials through research, consultation and delivery to place itself at the peak of the water safety industry.

[none]This means we are able to harness all the experience, knowledge and resources that have been built over 100 years of service to the Australian community to provide a extensive lifeguarding service that is over and above what other similar operations are able to offer.

The ALS is committed to working together with the volunteer surf life saving clubs throughout Australia to ensure we reach our vision of ‘Zero preventable deaths and injuries along the Australian coastline’. The concept is simple – we provide a ‘Total Service’ to our clients.

With this total service comes the ability to work side by side with and have access to state operations support services – including the rescue water craft service, jet rescue and offshore rescue boat service, the Westpac lifesaver helicopter rescue service, duty officers, and the SurfCom communications network. These operational services support both volunteer lifesavers and ALS lifeguards.
