With over 30 years experience the Australian Lifeguard Service (ALS) NSW is one of the largest providers of lifeguard services in the Southern Hemisphere. Currently our network provides services to over 90 individual locations, 15 local government authorities, 1 resort, 2 national parks, and with ongoing expansion we employ seasonally in excess of 330 lifeguards each year.

The ALS NSW is a subsidiary of Surf Life Saving NSW and we exist to uphold the core principles and values of Surf Life Saving in this commercially competitive market. The operations of the ALS support and contribute to lifesaving activities in NSW.

The ALS NSW provides a comprehensive integrated service including the provision of highly qualified lifeguards, lifeguard supervisors, management staff, the latest surf rescue gear and equipment, onsite Surf Safety Education delivery and supporting the Coastal Accommodation Network state wide. We also place a significant investment in the extensive radio communication network, as well as being a core unit of the Surf Rescue Emergency Response System; which provides Emergency Services with a single point of call to task Surf Life Saving resources to coastal emergencies.

Through our affiliation with Surf Life Saving NSW and its Registered Training Organisation (RTO) status, the ALS offers nationally accredited qualifications and training ensuring ALS lifeguards are equipped with industry leading and peak body knowledge and support.

The ALS NSW has been certified in ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems and AS 4801: 2001 Occupational Health and Safety that guides the service through strict governance, continuous improvement and process monitoring controls. ALS NSW takes great pride in providing a comprehensive lifeguard service to the communities of NSW.
