Applications are now open for those who wish to be considered for employment as a Life Saving Victoria (LSV) paid Lifeguard for the 2015/2016 season.
Positions exist for beach lifeguards, event lifeguards, as well as specialist roles for LSV Comms Operators, RWC lifeguards and lifeguards at Rowing Victoria events.
To apply, please complete the paid Lifeguard application form by midnight Sunday, 27 September 2015.
First year applicants are strongly encouraged to attend the Advanced Lifesaving Camp, as it forms part of the recruitment process, please refer Circular 218.05.15.
Club endorsement is required from your Club President, Club Secretary or Club Captain. Please nominate the appropriate Committee member who has endorsed your application on the application form.
Applicants may nominate to apply for work as an event lifeguard, event lifeguard work is available year-round for events both within Melbourne and regional areas.
Prior to completing the application form, please ensure you have confirmed your prerequisite qualifications through your Lifesaving Online account via www.lifesavingonline.com.au.

Beach Lifeguard Positions will be available across the following regions
- Bass (including Phillip Island)
- Port Phillip Bay and Surf Coast (RWC)
- Surf Coast
Note that a review of Districts and Regions across the whole of LSV is being undertaken, and the above is subject to change as it is anticipated the final Lifeguard Regions should align with these boundaries.
The main employment period is from 26 December through to 26 January with extended periods at Woolamai, Portsea, Ocean Grove, Geelong, Torquay, Anglesea and Lorne.
Lifeguards may nominate their preferred location/s, however allocations will be made based on operational requirements. Where possible we will place successful applicants at their preferred locations. Lifeguards are encouraged to work in different areas across the state to further develop their lifeguarding experience.
All Lifeguards applicants are required to be current in all pre-requisite awards and attend an interview if they wish to Lifeguard for the 2015/2016 season.
